Business & SEO

Add your business details as structured data, so search engines understand who is behind the site.

On this page

Search engines read hidden "structured data" to understand a site: the business name, address, phone number and opening hours. Urmi adds this data to your home page from the details you enter here, which can help your business show up with the right information in search results and on maps. Blog posts get article data automatically.

Go to Urmi → Settings → Business & SEO.

Add your business details

  1. Turn it on

Turn on Add business data. The fields appear.

  2. Choose the type

Pick the Type that matches best, for example Restaurant, Dentist or Home & construction (contractor, electrician, plumber…). Choose Organization (company, brand, non-profit) if you have no place customers visit.

  3. Describe the business

Write one or two sentences in Description.

  4. Fill in contact and address

Enter the Business name (empty uses your site title), Phone, Email, Street address, City, State / region, Postal code, Country code (two letters, such as US or GB), Area served and, for local businesses, Price range (for example $$).

  5. Add opening hours

For local businesses: one line per range, in the form Mo-Fr 09:00-17:30 or Sa 10:00-14:00.

  6. In Social profiles, add one address per line: LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, your Google Business profile and so on.

  7. Save

Click Save changes in the bar at the bottom of the screen.

Enter only real details, exactly as they appear elsewhere, such as on your Google Business profile. Search engines compare them with other listings.

Your site's logo, the one the Site Logo widget shows, is added automatically.

Business types

Organization (company, brand, non-profit), Local business (general), Professional service, Home & construction (contractor, electrician, plumber…), Automotive, Financial service, Legal service, Medical practice, Dentist, Health & beauty, Restaurant, Café, Shop / store, Real estate agent, Hotel / lodging, School / education, Gym / sports.

All types except Organization are local businesses: they also show Price range and Opening hours.

Where the data appears

  • Home page: your business, together with basic information about the website.
  • Blog posts: article data (headline, dates, author, featured image) is added automatically.
  • FAQ sections: the Accordion widget adds FAQ data when you turn on its FAQ schema switch.
  • Breadcrumbs: the Breadcrumbs widget adds breadcrumb data.

Nothing changes visibly on the page. To see the result, test your home page with Google's Rich Results Test (opens in a new tab).

If you use an SEO plugin

Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress and The SEO Framework print their own description of your organization and your posts. When one of them is active, Urmi notices it and says so under Add business data. It then adds only local business details next to the plugin's data, and leaves posts to the plugin. With the type Organization, Urmi adds nothing, so the data is not duplicated.

SEO titles and meta descriptions

Urmi has no field for SEO titles and meta descriptions. Set them in your SEO plugin, as usual.

A connected AI assistant can also set them for you: ask it, for example, to "write SEO titles and meta descriptions for all pages". The AI saves them into your SEO plugin if one is active. Without an SEO plugin, Urmi stores them and prints the meta description and social sharing tags itself. See What AI can do.
