Version rollback

If something stopped working after you updated Urmi, Version rollback reinstalls an earlier release in a few clicks. Your pages, templates, Design System and settings stay as they are. When the problem is fixed in a later release, you update again from the Plugins screen as usual.

Roll back to an earlier version

1. Back up your site

   Make a backup first, with your host's tools or a backup plugin.

2. Open Tools

   Go to Urmi → Settings → Tools and find Version rollback.

3. Choose the version

   Open Choose a version… and pick the release you want, usually the one you had before the update.

4. Reinstall

   Click Reinstall and confirm. Urmi downloads that version from WordPress.org, installs it over the current one and reactivates it. The page reloads when it is done.

Which versions are offered

• Only official Urmi releases from WordPress.org are offered, never files from other places.
• Only versions older than the one you have are listed, the ten most recent ones.
• Right after the first release (0.1.0) there is nothing to go back to yet, so the card says No earlier versions are available.
• If Urmi runs from a linked folder or a Git checkout (a development copy), rollback is switched off so your working files are never replaced.

If the card says it cannot list versions, your server may not be able to reach WordPress.org. You can still install an older version by hand: download it from the plugin's page on WordPress.org (under Advanced View → Previous versions) and upload it under Plugins → Add Plugin → Upload Plugin.

After rolling back

• Your content and settings are kept. Avoid editing pages that use features added in the newer version until you update again.
• WordPress will offer the newer version again under Plugins. Wait for a release that fixes your problem before you update.
• Report what went wrong to Urmi support, with the System info report, so it can be fixed.
